Achieving Organizational Health Through Corporate Culture

As a CEO, Leader or Business Owner you know the word toxic when used in the framework of your teams is a red flag…this is a warning sign that changes need to happen, and if the word toxic is used, you better make those changes fast!

Your primary responsibility is to oversee the execution of building a company culture to align with your mission, vision and core values. This is a priority. If you haven’t already developed this, please start to give some thought to it now. This is the foundation that you’ll build your culture on going forward, and how you and your people will know what’s expected, and that you’re succeeding.

Our people are our best asset and if they are unhappy we’ll lose our best asset. So providing a work environment that creates space for them to thrive is protecting your assets.

Pay them well, offer great benefits, help them grow and learn by offering development opportunities. And most importantly make sure they are the right person for the position, and once hired, don’t overwhelm them with additional scope of work that they were not hired to do! Come on…go hire additional help.

Talent acquisition, performance management, training and leadership development are all going to be easier for you once you have a firm commitment to the type of people you’ll be asking to join your organization (based on your values, etc.).

If you didn’t know it, you are the primary steward of your culture; (or you should be) ensuring that every touchpoint for your employees is consistent with your values and brand. Further, you are responsible for ensuring each member of the team understands and represents the best of who they are through the curation of communications, policies, activities, and events.
